Blessing

"Bless the Lord, O my soul--and all that is within me bless his holy name!" Psalm 103

Is it strange that we should bless God? Not really. Although we receive blessing upon blessing from God, we are capable of blessing God in return and being a blessing as well. To bless means "to show favor for" and so we show our love and gratitude to God by blessing God's name--the source of all there is and all we have.

How might you bless God this day? In prayer, of course. But also in how you are a blessing to others.

God, you have blessed us with all good things. Help us to be grateful and to respond to your love with love for others in your holy name. Amen
